In animal production, we know that performance losses early in an animal's life will negatively affect the rest of the cycle, leading to losses for the producer.
Average daily gain, feed conversion, uniformity, piglet viability, gut health, and reproductive performance are all directly related to the technical and economic efficiency of the operation.
The challenge is that losses accumulated in the early stages tend to carry through the rest of production. In other words, piglets with lower performance in the farrowing or nursery phases often show greater variability, worse feed efficiency, and lower use of their zootechnical potential in later stages.
At the same time, modern pig farming operates under high production pressure. Health fluctuations, enteric challenges, stress, variability in feed intake, and the growing need to reduce antimicrobial use all call for an integrated nutritional strategy.
In this scenario, mineral nutrition takes on a strategic role. Present in the nutrition of sows, piglets, and finishing pigs, it influences growth, gut integrity, immune response, metabolism, and production efficiency. How Nurio Plex works

Most mineral programs for pig farming were built on inorganic minerals, or more recently, on chelates of one mineral at a time. Nurio Plex starts from a different premise.
A single structure. Seven essential minerals. Delivered together, in a coordinated way, with stability maintained throughout the entire digestive tract, regardless of pH, diet, or cycle stage.

Nurio Plex results: performance and uniformity

In pig farming, production results are built through every stage of the cycle. That's why adopting nutritional strategies that favor greater availability and efficient use of ingredients and minerals can contribute to zootechnical performance, batch uniformity, and production consistency throughout production.
Minerals take part in key physiological processes related to growth, energy metabolism, gut integrity, and immune response. When made more efficiently available to the body, they can favor metabolic conditions capable of sustaining productivity and performance across different stages of the production cycle.
In evaluations conducted on international commercial farms, including operations of 2,000 to 5,000 sows in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, piglets supplemented with Nurio Plex showed better production indicators compared to conventional mineral programs, including feed conversion, average daily gain, and viability.
The results observed indicate that greater mineral availability and utilization can help maintain zootechnical performance throughout the production cycle, favoring growth, feed efficiency, and animal uniformity through to slaughter.

Gut Health, Immunity and Reproduction

The health challenges faced by modern pig farming go beyond the occurrence of clinical disease. Changes in gut integrity, subclinical inflammatory processes, oxidative stress, and metabolic imbalances can compromise animal performance even when clinical signs aren't evident.
Minerals such as zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium play a role in physiological mechanisms related to maintaining the gut barrier, antioxidant activity, and immune response. Adequate availability of these nutrients becomes especially important during more challenging phases, such as post-weaning, gestation, and lactation.
In evaluations conducted on international commercial farms, animals supplemented with Nurio Plex showed indicators consistent with better gut integrity, lower oxidative pressure, and support for the physiological response to production health challenges.†
In sows, adequate mineral support was also associated with important reproductive indicators, including piglet vitality at birth and performance across production cycles.†

Carcass Quality and Body Composition

The effects of mineral nutrition go beyond growth and feed efficiency indicators. Adequate mineral availability plays a role in physiological processes related to muscle development, energy metabolism, and tissue quality.
For that reason, nutritional programs that favor greater mineral utilization efficiency can influence traits important to the meat processing industry, such as carcass yield, animal uniformity, and meat quality.
In observations conducted on international commercial farms, animals supplemented with Nurio Plex showed indicators consistent with better carcass yield, lower drip loss, and greater uniformity at slaughter.
In commercial-scale production, uniformity and predictability represent important advantages for production management, allowing greater batch consistency and better value for the animals at the end of the production cycle.
